Horoscopes for Eclipse Season (Sept 2025)
Expect big changes wherever the Virgo/Pisces axis falls for you
Energetically speaking, at least — the second eclipse season of 2025 started off with a bang at the Virgo new moon on August 23rd. Technically, it wasn’t an actual eclipse: the new moon was at 00° Virgo, positioning it just one degree further from the nodes than the 17° required for the true eclipse phenomenon. The new moon squared Uranus in early Gemini, which means themes of language, communication, new and radical ideas, and breaking free of narrative limitations are all super important, and will continue to be relevant over the next month. The real eclipses of this season happen on Sept. 7th and 21st. But if you’re already noticing a vibe shift, maybe a sense of destabilization or a wave of new manifestations rolling it, you’re probably stepping into this portal.
Eclipses usually bring in shifts and events that highlight the longer-term process described by the nodes. The nodes are always opposite each other, and they stay in a set of signs for about 18 months. Currently, the south node is in Virgo and the north node is in Pisces, where they’ve been since the beginning of 2025. The south node shows up as situations that offer us a chance to shed a layer of karmic skin, while the north node wants to us step out of a comfort zone and into experiences that are new to the soul.
Wherever you’ve got Virgo in your chart is likely somewhere you’re meticulous, sensitive and humble (or at least, you might appear humble there from the outside). Virgo is ruled by Mercury, but unlike chatter-y Gemini, it tends to resonate with the Lao Tzu idiom of “he who knows does not speak, he who speaks does not know.” It’s intellectual, but rarely showy about it. Virgo is also a gifted systems-thinker, but struggles with the difference in pace between ideas and material reality, which can manifest as its shadows of perfectionism, impatience and harsh critique. The south node’s journey here could be bringing some of these Virgoan challenges to the surface of your awareness. Depending on the house, there might be some external releases that need to happen while the south node is here — relationships, jobs, living situations, etc — or the process might be more internal/energetic, inviting you to change your approach, edit your own narratives, or do the healing work required to let go of some long-held resentment.
Pisces, on the other hand, will be a place in your chart and your life where you are much less concerned with mental frameworks, and more interested in the spiritual, ethereal and magical aspects of reality. We’re often prone towards sloppiness in the 3D where Pisces is involved, and can struggle with structures, rules and limitations. Since Saturn has been transiting Pisces since 2023, we’ve all already received some big lessons around keeping the boundary-dissolving nature of this oceanic sign in check, or at least being more intentional about how we divert the overflow. But the north node’s presence here now means we’re actually meant to step into the Piscean mess and surrender some control — and to somehow do it without negating Saturn’s teachings.
SEPT. 7th Lunar Eclipse at 15° Pisces
Important themes: creativity, spirituality, surrender, flow, empathy, grief, merging, ascension, the non-rational, immaterial and transcendent, the ocean herself
Important aspects: a trine between Jupiter and the Moon during this eclipse — as well as Jupiter’s rulership of the Pisces north node — means some form of abundance could be incoming for all of us. Don’t try to swim upstream; instead, look for what is being offered with generosity and synchronicity. Mercury, the ruler of the south node, is also involved at just 5° from the Sun. You’ll start to see something much more clearly around this time, but it’s not a moment for logic to win the day. Try not to waste too much energy arguing. Better to stay quiet and let the Piscean current carry you towards where you’re meant to be.
SEPT 21st Solar Eclipse at 29° Virgo
Important themes: structure, mental clarity, maturity, release of fantasy or delusion, hard limits, rewriting of internal narratives (especially negative, overly-critical ones), grounded communication, planting seeds
Important aspects: the Sun and Moon will be directly opposed by Saturn, which has dipped back into the late degrees of Pisces for a final swim. The 29th degree of any sign has an edgy, jumpy, unsettled feel, and that may show up in the days leading up to this eclipse as a tug-of-war between our intuitive senses and the logic of our minds. In the end, both will reveal themselves as equally important and equally real. One interesting thing about the Pisces/Virgo axis is that while Pisces usually gets the credit for being magical, Virgo is the sign of spell-casting and the power of words to impact reality. Saturn’s involvement means there won’t be much space for ungrounded versions of this spiritual truth, so if you’re faced with a limitation in this moment, don’t resist it — but don’t think of it as permanent either. Instead, get as clear as you can about what you believe and what you’re calling in, and set your intentions, using Virgo as a powerful bridge between the mental and the material.
A note on Karma, Fate and Destiny
Your natal nodes tell the story of your soul’s karmic arc in this lifetime. The south node has information about where you’re coming from: what energies you have the most experience with in your past lives, the resources and skill sets you’ve likely built up, and the baggage or trauma you might still be carrying. The north node speaks to an energy and area of life you’re less familiar with on a soul level, but must embrace in order to support the process of your evolution. Understanding the placement of your nodes is essential if you want to grasp the layer of your experience in this lifetime that corresponds to your karma.
Events that feel “fated” are common during eclipse season. Sometimes it’s something that comes in out of the blue, but feels strangely familiar as it unfolds. Or you might recognize a familiar dynamic that has played out before in this lifetime, even if it’s happening in an entirely new set of circumstances, like a karmic loop that seems to keep repeating. Remember: the pieces that you can’t control are your karma, soul-lessons the universe is asking you to learn. I like to understand this element as “fate.” But there are also always choice-points, options to exercise your free will, and send the current of reality in a new direction. This part is “destiny” — the way you’re actively creating your own life on this timeline, in this body.
If your natal nodes are in Virgo and Pisces, you’re either at your nodal return or your nodal opposition — both crucial turning points in your evolutionary arc. RISING SIGN HOROSCOPES
Aries Rising (12th house Pisces, 6th house Virgo)
The nodes are activating the axis between your 6th and 12th house, which corresponds to the balance between the seen and the unseen, the material and the immaterial. With the south node moving through Virgo in the 6th house, there may be unhealthy habits to drop or healthy ones to pick up. Or, there may be a layer of perfectionism around your health choices to release — or maybe call of the above. The north node in Pisces in your 12th is inviting you to expand your efforts in the invisible realms. That could happen through ceremony, art, meditation, dreamwork, psychedelics, or other paths and practices that help you be more intentional in 12th house spaces. Keep leaning into this side of your development, and you’ll find your 6th house challenges become less rigid and more easily resolved.
Taurus Rising (11th house Pisces, 5th house Virgo)
This nodal transit has you navigating the 5th/11th house axis, the one that describes the balance between individual authentic expression and the wider groups, communities and cultures that we’re all inevitably connected to. The south node in your 5th house is asking you to release something about your sense of personal identity, while the north node in your 11th wants you to embrace an element of merging or flocking within a network of many. With Saturn in your 11th house since 2023, you’ve probably learned some tough lessons about boundaries in community spaces — put those lessons to use now. Don’t go off the deep end, but do lean away from your critical, perfectionist-self and into a posture of surrender.
Gemini Rising (10th house Pisces, 4th house Virgo)
The nodes are activating both the most public part of your chart and the most private. The south node in your 4th house could be bringing up childhood memories, destabilizing your living situation, or revealing an overly-critical or controlling part of your own mind that mostly shows up at home/with family. Meanwhile, you might be pulled out of your comfort zone professionally, with the universe (and maybe a boss too) asking you to step into an upleveled version of yourself — even if you still feel like a novice. This eclipse season, don’t be surprised if there’s an unexpected change of direction both at work and at home. Let go of your perfectionism and say yes to where you’re being asked to surrender.
Cancer Rising (9th house Pisces, 3rd house Virgo)
For you, the current nodal journey bridges what is local and intimate with what is expansive, widespread and constantly evolving. The south node in your 3rd house is revealing something about the local, on-the-ground communities you’re a part of, and the way you communicate in those spaces. Something might change quickly here during eclipse season — you might see a situation clearly in a way you couldn’t before, and there might be something that needs to release. With the north node in your 9th house, the call is to expand your consciousness. It might be time to physically leave your neighborhood and have an adventure in some distant land. Or it could happen intellectually or spiritually, by embracing a new path, practice or area of study. Either way, the key to growth right now is to release what is familiar and controllable, and travel towards the non-local, even if it means loosening some boundaries you usually try to keep firmly in place.
Leo Rising (8th house Pisces, 2nd house Virgo)
The 2nd/8th house axis is all about resources: the 2nd house is about what belongs to you alone, and the 8th house is about resources we share with others. This includes not only money and assets, but our physical bodies as well. Virgo in the 2nd house can be overly critical of itself, sometimes leading to low self-esteem and a lack of boundaries in the 8th (where we sometimes give too much of ourselves away). This eclipse season, look for any false narratives you’ve been carrying about your own inherent value, and release rigidity where you can. Saturn’s been traversing your 8th house since 2023, so you may have already moved through some big lessons on boundaries: now is the time to put them into action, and embrace the surrender that Pisces always calls for without completely losing yourself.
Virgo Rising (7th house Pisces, 1st house Virgo)
If possible, find out when the nodes cross the horizon line of your chart: that may be an even more crucial moment for you than eclipse season. When the south node crosses the ascendant — and when it’s in the first house in general — there’s a layer of self the universe wants you to release. It can be a humbling experience: if you’ve been trying to “fake it til you make it” with some aspect of your life, a transit like this can be a moment when you just stop faking it. Sometimes it’s a moment when folks cut off all their hair, take a load of clothing from a previous era of life to the thrift store, or say “fuck it” to a gender norm they’ve been trying to meet. The north node in your 7th house wants you to lean into your relationships, even the ones that feel a little messy or don’t meet all your Virgo rising standards. Say yes to being loved.
Libra Rising (6th house Pisces, 12th house Virgo)
The south node’s transit through your 12th house could be surfacing some challenging layers in your psychic space. Confusing dreams, feelings of disconnection or isolation, and even mysterious health issues can correspond to this transit. Ultimately there’s no rushing the process of karmic release, but the best way to support yourself is by making the 6th house changes you probably already know you need to make. Pisces in the 6th can struggle with escapist habits, excess, and difficultly sticking to a routine. You’ll always want a lifestyle that allows you to flow autonomously in the day-to-day, but this is the moment to swim out of any currents you’ve allowed to erode your essential self-care practices. Get creative, expansive and a little uncomfortable. This is also a great time to receive reiki, get acupuncture, do tai-chi, or embrace any other practice that focuses on healing the energy body.
Scorpio Rising (5th house Pisces, 11th house Virgo)
Having Virgo in your 11th house can mean you’re pretty picky about who you associate yourself with. That’s not a bad thing: your standards are high, your values are un-compromise-able, and you prefer deep, authentic connections over superficial ones. But you may also occasionally succumb to Virgo’s shadow, which can be overly-critical and ungrateful. Your nodal journey right now involves seeing clearly when it comes to the wider communities and networks you’re a part of: is there something that needs to release, either internal or external, in these spaces? You’ll find some of those answers not by thinking or analyzing, but by leaning into Pisces and your 5th house. For you, creativity and spirituality directly overlap. It’s time to call in the muses, step out of your personal comfort zone, and let the big, wide, oceanic energies pour through. As that happens, any vestigial rigidity stuck in your 11th house will naturally wash away.
Sagittarius Rising (4th house Pisces, 10th house Virgo)
A south node transit to the midheaven/10th house can look like a few different things. It might be time to let go of a layer of your professional identity. Likely, underneath it you’ll find fresh, unexpressed talents that are meant to contribute to the impact you want to have on the world. It could also be a moment when karmic dynamics are showing up in your career, when you’re working with people you’ve known in past lives and playing out stories that have already unfolded on other timelines. The key is mostly to simply allow this part to happen — don’t try to shed the skin, just let it fall away on its own. Instead, focus on the north node in your 4th house. Pay attention to parts of your psychology that are colored by your childhood experiences. Find creative ways make yourself feel abundant and secure without compromising autonomy. With Pisces in the 4th, it’s almost inevitable that you’re a bit sloppy at home — but try to keep things just neat enough that your professional life isn’t affected.
Capricorn Rising (3rd house Pisces, 9th house Virgo)
The evolutionary call for you this nodal season likely has something to do with “going local”. The south node in your 9th house might bring in opportunities for long-distance travel, but if you say yes, remember that the experience will ultimately be asking you to release something. The north node in your 3rd, meanwhile, tells us that your current growth edge is more about working with your on-the-ground communities and connections. Another layer of the transit relates to the balance between your belief systems/ideals and the realities that are already manifest around you. It may be a moment for learning to communicate with those who don’t share all your values or narratives. Try to put aside judgement, be present with siblings, neighbors and others who are a built-in part of your life, and embrace the spiritual growth that comes from accepting people as they are.
Aquarius Rising (2nd house Pisces, 8th house Virgo)
The nodes are transiting the axis of your chart that relates to resources, and where we work with themes of abundance, scarcity, value, and the balance between what we share with others and what belongs to us alone. The south node is in your 8th house, asking you to release something related to the tangled psychology of sex, genetics, investments, commitments, contracts and inheritance (among other possibilities). The north node is in your 2nd house, inviting you to evolve towards personal autonomy and an embodied knowing of your own self-worth. Since Pisces is involved, the 2nd house journey for you is inherently a spiritual one — your sense of value and security will always need to have some of its roots in the unseen. If you surrender control in a certain situation, you might find it leads to an unexpected outcome that is better than anything you could have imagined.
Pisces Rising (1st house Pisces, 7th house Virgo)
South node transits to the 7th house are often times of big relational shifts. Sometimes there are connections that need to be fully shed, relationships where toxic dynamics are repeating themselves, or those that just don’t fit the contours of your own energetic shape anymore. Other times, the people can stay in your life, but the form of the connection needs to be rebuilt into something that feels more generative and nourishing. This process will happen in tandem with the north node’s movement through your first house, where the universe is calling you to expand your sense of self, especially your mystic, creative, intuitive side. You’re probably a very discerning person relationally, with high standards, and that’s a good thing — but as much as you can, let this eclipse season show you where you might release some rigidity without compromising your own needs.
