On July 7th, Uranus crosses the threshold between Taurus and Gemini. Uranus spends about 7 years per sign, with an 84 year orbit around the Sun. Like all outer planets, its ingresses symbolize collective evolutions, shifts in the background or environmental energies we’re existing within. But even though these transitions are less personal, they’re usually just as noticeable, just as manifest in the material world. With Uranus, a planet whose archetype connects to fast, unexpected shifts and the breaching of barriers, ingresses can correspond to weather events associated with the elements involved in the astrology. Uranus entered Aries from Pisces on March 11, 2011, the exact day of the Japanese tsunami and nuclear disaster. In May 2018, as it moved from Aries into Taurus, an earthquake on Hawaii triggered the Kilauea volcano eruption, a slow lava flow that lasted about four months and destroyed over 700 structures.

Whether or not another dramatic weather event aligns with this ingress — the earth will probably shake somewhere in your own life. Wherever you have Gemini in your natal chart, there will be a scattering of the vibes, as energies transition from the extremely solid fixed earth sign of Taurus into Gemini’s mutable, decentralized air. The change will demand mental flexibility from all of us. Get ready for your plans to be disrupted, your rigid narratives to be fractured, and perhaps for some aspects of your life to blow away in the wind. But don’t worry — the cosmos still has your back. It just might ask you to surrender something you no longer need.

As always, the horoscopes below are written using a whole sign house system. But because Uranus will be just in the earliest degrees of Gemini this summer — and it will actually drop back into Taurus throughout the fall and winter, making its more permanent ingress into Gemini in April 2026 — if you work with a different house system, it’s possible you’ll resonate with the horoscope for one house back rather than the one for your rising sign. Read both, and trust your gut on which one feels more aligned.

ARIES RISING (Gemini in the 3rd house)

The scattering happens for you in the area of the chart that relates to your local communities. That might be your neighborhood or other on-the-ground communities you’re connected with: maybe your yoga studio, the choir you sing with, your mutual aid network or the animal shelter you volunteer at. It could also relate to your siblings, your cousins or other extended family, or your inner circle — your friend group chat is a very third house space too, even if you don’t all live in the same geographic area. This change could look like a flurry of communication in these realms, maybe some secrets revealed or old structures fractured. No matter what happens, trust your gut, and at the same time, let your mind be flexible. Remember: the only constant is change itself.

TAURUS RISING (Gemini in the 2nd house)

The transition happens for you in the area of your chart related to your finances, assets, and other personal resources. If you’re a Taurus rising, you’re probably someone who doesn’t like to take risks when it comes to money. Maybe you’ve spent the past several years of Uranus in Taurus letting your wealth accumulate, especially through investments. Uranus at 29 Taurus is sort of the ultimate expression of consolidated resources, ie, a money bubble. This is not financial advice — but it would be in perfect alignment with the archetypes if that bubble bursts sometime over the next ten months. Your study here is flexibility, both when it comes to what you do with your assets, and when it comes to your internal programming about self-worth. Steer away from the conventional. Don’t listen too much to the noise, all the external voices wanting to give you advice. Trust your instinct instead — and trust that the universe is carrying you wherever it is that you need to go.

GEMINI RISING (Gemini in the 1st house)

Most important: if you use a house system other than whole sign, find out when Uranus crosses your ascendant. If that’s not for several years, read the Cancer rising horoscope for Gemini in the 12th. If it’s soon, or if you resonate with a whole sign chart — get ready for some major changes in how your conceive of yourself, and how the world perceives you. You might already feel them creeping. Uranus in the first calls for a radical re-evaluation of your sense of self: your character, your identity, your temperament, and often your external presentation. This could relate to gender, to style, to values, and/or to something like a job, a relationship, a living situation, or something else that you have allowed to define you, something that has become woven in with your individuality. Uranus likes to buck the status quo, so just know, you probably can’t get past this threshold without some kind of major upheaval.

CANCER RISING (Gemini in the 12th house)

The ultimate theme of this transit for you is spiritual awakening. The 12th house speaks to the invisible realms and our invisible bodies. Sometimes 12th house transits are hard to pin down — you can feel that a change is happening somewhere in the background, but it isn’t necessarily manifest yet (often the shift is “birthed” when the transiting planet crosses the ascendant). Uranus’ entrance into Gemini could awaken psychic capacities for you — you might experience an influx of dreams, spirit communication, or creative inspiration that seems to arrive from out of the blue. Pay especially close attention to any intuitive guidance coming through about your health. This is a great time to work with an energy healer, or someone else who knows how to move in the subtle realms. If you have planets in the sixth house, find out when Uranus opposes them, because those aspects are the most likely to show up as physical experiences.

LEO RISING (Gemini in the 11th house)

Uranus’ transition is impacting the area of your chart related to the wider groups, circles, networks and communities you belong to. The words “tribe” or “affinity group” can be appropriate here — it’s about your sense of belonging, the people you want to flock with, even if you don’t have personal connections with all of them. There might be some big changes coming in. You might find you no longer share values with a community space you’ve felt held by in the past. There might be a fracturing of narratives, suppressed secrets coming out, urgent communication missives flying between different factions. And/or, you might find unexpected belonging in a community you would never have guessed you’d resonate with. As it is for all of us, mental flexibility is key during this time. Let go of your expectations and any tendency to be overly controlling, and trust the wind to carry you to where you need to be.

VIRGO RISING (Gemini in the 10th house)

Most important: Find out when Uranus crosses your midheaven. If that’s not for several years, read the the horoscope for Libra rising instead, and get in touch with Gemini in the 9th. If your midheaven is very early Gemini, or if you resonate with a whole sign interpretation of your chart, brace yourself for some significant changes in your public persona, and your sense of the legacy you’re here to leave. You’re probably a gifted communicator, and the impact you want to have on the world is likely connected to words, language, storytelling, translation, or other forms of information exchange. But Uranus might cause a big shakeup when it comes to what that actually looks like. You may have to push back against conventional career paths, bosses or managers who want to limit your authentic expression, or other haters who can’t see you for your unique gifts. If you’re not already familiar, learn more about Mercury, your chart ruler (and likely your midheaven ruler too), for greater insight on this chapter of your life.

LIBRA RISING (Gemini in the 9th house)

This transit will activate your innate desire to learn, to expand your consciousness. It may bring new mentors, guides or teachers into your life. Most likely, it will ask you to radicalize your philosophy, the stories you carry about the meaning of life and your role in it. As a Libra rising, you may at times be someone who doesn’t like to rock the boat, who prefers taking stances that create harmony and that please as many people as possible. That might get harder as Uranus moves through your 9th and your belief systems are subject to Uranian paradigm shifts. At times you may feel like you have no idea what’s real anymore. If you yourself are in some kind of a guiding role to others, this transit may trouble your confidence in your ability to lead. Keep a flexible mind. Say yes to international travel and other encounters with unfamiliar cultures. Embrace the uncertainty, because after all, no human can ever have ALL the facts.

SCORPIO RISING (Gemini in the 8th house)

If you have Gemini in the 8th and Taurus in the 7th, Uranus has already been moving through the most relational area of your chart for several years. There may have already been some radical shake-ups in your relationships, or in the way you do relationship — not only the romantic kind, but all the intimate connections in your life. The 8th house takes the focus particularly to those relationships in which you’re invested not just emotionally, but in terms of resources. A partner with whom you share a house or a bank account, a business collaborator, or family situations where there’s a shared inheritance are all examples of 8th house relationships. Uranus will ask for radical honesty in these spaces. It will ask you to disrupt established patterns, traditions and conventions. There might be big decisions to make, and you might find yourself at various crossroads, two of swords-type moments where you can’t predict the future but you have to choose anyway. Even if you don’t have clarity — trust that that universe has your back.

SAGITTARIUS RISING (Gemini in the 7th house)

Most important: find out when Uranus crosses your descendant. If that’s not for several years, you’ll probably resonate more with the horoscope for Capricorn rising and Gemini in the 6th. If it’s soon, get ready for some major shifts in your relationships. This transit could bring intimates into your life that radicalize your worldview just by being themselves. If you’re in a long-term partnership, Uranus won’t stand for stagnancy, co-dependence, or following tradition just because “that’s the way it’s always been done”. It may ask you to break free of conventional gender roles, explore non-monogamy, embrace concepts like platonic partnerships, experiment with kink, or otherwise push back against the relational status quo. And if you’re in a connection where the sense of misalignment has been growing for a while, this ingress may give you the strength to finally clear it out of your field. Release what’s heavy and jump off the cliff — you’ll be amazed at how well you can fly.

CAPRICORN RISING (Gemini in the 6th house)

Uranus is entering the area of your chart that relates to your daily routine, your lifestyle, and how you take care of yourself. Despite the Capricorn layer of your nature, Gemini in the 6th means you might find it hard to drop into established habits, to do the same thing every day. You might not love sticking to a rigid schedule, or having the flow of your day determined by someone else. You do well in workspaces that involve communication and learning, where every day is something different. You’re also adaptable, good at solving mundane problems and thinking outside the box. This Uranus transit will make that flexibility indispensable. You could experience some shakeups in your health — mental or physical — and find the need to make some radical changes in your lifestyle. You might not have clarity right away, but once it arrives, ride the fast-moving nature of mutable air by taking action ASAP.

AQUARIUS RISING (Gemini in the 5th house)

This transit looks like one that could be a lot of fun for you. You get to indulge your creative and curious side — in fact, Uranus will pretty much demand it of you. The fifth house is where we play, have fun, get in the zone, let our inner little one out to explore. If there are actual children in your life, they will likely be potent inspirations for you. If you’re a parent, this transit will probably revolutionize the way you do it. If you sometimes get a little overbearing, trying to tightly control or manage your kids and/or your own inner child, Uranus in the your fifth will ask you to release some of that, and embrace a less linear, more experimental way of existing. Stay humble, and allow your cosmic education and soul growth to happen through the mundane, the unexpected and the pleasurable. Learn to play chess, take up an instrument or a sport, or find some other path that allows for fun and creativity alongside self-improvement. Enjoy the ride!

PISCES RISING (Gemini in the 4th house)

The most important timeframe for you to know about is whenever Uranus crosses your IC, the bottommost point in your chart. If that’s not for several years, you might resonate more with the Aries rising horoscope that covers Gemini in the 3rd. But if it’s soon, get ready — there really isn’t any other transit more likely to correspond to a change in living situation than this one. It could be unexpected, but it also could be something you’ve known was creeping for a while. Uranus’ transition from earth to air could kick the move into higher gear. The 4th house is also the area of the chart that relates to ancestry and early childhood. A transit like this can surface old psychology, possibly patterns of behavior or emotions you thought you were done with. Whatever it looks like, the next several years will ask you to revolutionize the way you create base level safety and security for yourself. Ask yourself what your core needs are in this area, and try to find ways to meet them, even if it means thinking way outside the box.
